Die „Auflösung“ mag nicht jedermanns Fall sein, erscheint auch mir ein wenig zu nebensächlich hervorgebracht; hinterlässt andererseits zugleich den Eindruck, dass es genauso sein musste, um dem Szenario nicht die entstehende Stimmung zu schmälern. -

John Gilling schuf mit "Das Schwarze Reptil" einen unheimlichen Gruselfilm, der zwar weder mit Schockeffekten, noch mit übermäßig viel Spannung bestechen kann, den sich aber kein Verehrer klassischen Horrors entgehen lassen sollte. -

Filmkritik
Die Angst vor dem Anderen, ja das Andere überhaupt, ist die Grunderzählung des Horrorfilms, wenn sie nicht sogar dessen Bedingung der Möglichkeit (vgl. dazu Stefan Höltgen:"And Now For Something Completely Different - Alterität im Horrorfilm" in Splatting Image Nr. 52 / Dezember 2002) darstellt. So auch im vorliegenden...
