Die Katholische Hofkirche "Sanctissimae Trinitatis" wurde 1964 zur Konkathedrale erhoben, und ist seit 1980 die Kathedrale des Bistums Dresden-Meißen sowie eine Stadtpfarrkirche Dresdens.
Während der Luftangriffe auf Dresden vom 13. bis 15. Februar 1945 wurde die Kirche mehrfach von Sprengbomben getroffen. -

Die Erklärung ist simpel: Um König von Polen zu werden musste er zum katholischen Glauben rüberwechseln und so baute er eine ordentliche italienische Kathedrale. Die Bauarbeiter ließ er gleich von Italien mitbringen. So verwundert dieser Baustiel auch nicht. Schön finde ich vor allem die zahlreichen detailreichen Figuren, die... -
