Vorwort:

Die von \"Mad Onion\" entwickelte Software 3-D Mark 2001 dient zum Messen von Leistung und Performance ihres PC Systems. Das Benchmarktool nutzt die MAX-FX Technologie von Remedy Entertainment. Dabei spielt sicherlich die Größe des Arbeitsspeichers und die Geschwindigkeit der CPU eine wesentliche Rolle, jedoch vor allem die Leistungsmerkmale der Grafikkarte.

Die Installation gestaltet sich gewohnt leicht und währenddessen kann man wohl ebenfalls eine Pro Version der Software erwerben. Als Mindestanforderungen sollte ihr PC folgendes Leistungsspektrum abdecken. Einen Prozessor mit 500MHz und 128 MB Ram, so wie eine Grafikkarte mit 32 MB Hauptspeicher. Sollte ihr Computer diese Anforderungen nicht erfüllen, können Sie auch die Version 2000 herunterladen.


Mad Onion - 3D Mark 2001

Nach dem Start des Programms empfängt Sie eine grafische Bedienoberfläche, die mehrere Menüs beherbergt.

1) Links oben im \"Project\" Fenster wird später das Ergebnis ihres Tests angezeigt und sie können ihrem Projektfile einen Namen zuordnen.

2) \"Selected Tests\" läßt eine Auswahl der Videos zu, die zum Benchmark genutzt werden.

3) \"Options\" Einstellungen für die Soundkarte und den DEtaillevel für das Spieldemo

4) \"Display and CPU settings\" Der Button \"System Info\" hält alle Informationen zu ihrem PC bereit CPU,L1,L2 Cache, Betriebssystem, RAM, Grafikadapter, Modell des Mainboards

5) Pro Tools: Die beiden Funktionen \"result browser\" und \"batch run\" sind nur in der PRO Version erhältlich


6) Run:

\"Benchmark\": Der etwa 5-10 minütige Test mißt im Verlauf die Framerate und liefert 2303 3d marks

\"Demo\" bietet einen Vorgeschmack, auf das was sie erwartet

\"Gamedemo\" ebenfalls in der non-commercial Version nicht verfügbar.

Résumé:

Das Testen der PC Hardware wird mit \"3D-Mark 2001\" wirklich zu einem Vergnügen. Die Technologiestudien sehen wirklich brilliant aus und endlich konnte ich mir diesen Test auch flüssig und in voller Detailstufe ansehen. Angesichts der Tatsache, dass meine Sparkle G-Force 4 nur in AGP4x läuft und ich schnellerer Athlon mit mehr als 1200 MHz sicherlich noch bessere Werte liefert, bin ich mit der Performance und den Ergebnissen insgesamt zufrieden.
